Maxine Krueger

Maxine Krueger (nee Milligan)

Age 89 of Coal City and formerly Goose Lake passed away Friday, November 07, 2014 at Heritage Health in Dwight.

Born May 1, 1925 in Greenup, Illinois, Maxine was a daughter of the late Charles F. and Flosey Lackey-Milligan. She was raised in Melrose Park and graduated from Proviso High School with the class of 1942. Maxine was a 50+ year active member of Coal City United Methodist Church and belonged to the Order of the Eastern Star. During the war she worked on a production line making batteries for military equipment and later worked in Real Estate throughout the area. Maxine loved antique cars and traveling all over the world.

Survivors include her son: Kurt Kupfer of Carbon Hill; four step-children: Tom Krueger of Godley, Debbie (Danny) Marino, Karen (Jim) Hopson and Curt Krueger all of Joliet, and numerous grandchildren.

Maxine was preceded in death by her parent; first husband: Rudolf Henry Kupfer in 1969 and second husband Dale Krueger.

Visitation will be held on Monday November 10, 2014 between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block North of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City. Maxine will then lie in state at the Coal City United Methodist Church, 6805 East McArdle Road in Coal City on Tuesday November 11th from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service 11:00 a.m. Reverend Walter Carlson will officiate and a memorial luncheon will immediately follow the services. Burial will be Wednesday in Oakridge Glen Oaks Cemetery in Hillside, where Maxine will be laid to rest with her first husband.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Maxine's memory to the Coal City United Methodist Church, The Wounded Warriors Project, or any other Veteran's organization.
