Maurine E. Mayne
Age 90 of Wilmington, passed away Tuesday August 14, 2007 after a lengthy illness at Embassy Care Center in Wilmington.
Born January 27, 1917 in Toluca, Illinois, Maurine was a daughter of the late Vivian and Rose Zima-Ball. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Wilmington; volunteered for Kuzma Care Cottage and was an election judge for many years. Maurine was a former bookkeeper for Whitmore Cassingham's Hardware Store and then was a purchaser for UniRoyal. In the 1940's Maurine was trained by State Farm Insurance as one of the first computer operators. In her free time Maurine greatly enjoyed baking for the Ladies Guild of the Church.
Survivors include her son Roger (Sherri Michaels) Mayne of Wilmington and two brothers: Roger (Carol) Ball of El Paso, Illinois and Jack (Mary) Ball of Pontiac, Illinois.
Maurine was preceded in death by her parents; husband E.L. "Pete" Mayne (1981), one sister Barbara Volk and one brother Richard W. Ball.
Visitation will be held on Friday August 17, 2007 from 11:00AM until time of funeral services 1:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 219 North Joliet Street (two blocks North of Illinois Route 53 / Baltimore Street) in Wilmington. Reverend Kay Collins will officiate the services and burial will follow in El Paso Cemetery, El Paso, Illinois
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Maurine's memory to Kuzma Care Cottage or Trinity Services.
