Maurice Beattie

Maurice G. Beattie

Age 90 of Kankakee and formerly Custer Park, passed away Wednesday February 20, 2008 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee.

Born February 4, 1918 in Kilmarnock, Scotland Maurice was a son of the late Robert J. and Mary Gardner Beattie. After High School and College Maurice entered and served in the British Artillery and was a member of the Church of Scotland (Presbyterian). Maurice was employed by Exxon Oil until his retirement, serving in an executive position with a corporate branch in the Far East.

Survivors include his son Andrew (Lynn) Beattie of Wilmington and two grandchildren: Robert and Mary Beattie.

Maurice was preceded in death by his parents, wife Cynthia and one brother Robert.

Private family services were held at Reeves Funeral Home in Wilmington.

Interment: McWright Cemetery in Kellogg, Texas.

Preferred memorials in lieu of flowers may be made as gifts in Maurice's memory to Saint Rose School, 626 S. Kankakee Street, Wilmington, IL 60481, where his grandchildren attend.
