Matt Noyes

Age 31 of Wilmington passed away Tuesday June 4, 2013 at the University of Chicago Medical Center in Chicago.

Born May 12, 1982 in Joliet, Matt is a son of Sandy (nee Long) and the late John R. Noyes. He was raised in Wilmington and graduated from Wilmington High School with the Class of 2000. Matt worked as a diesel mechanic for Parsec, Inc. at Center Pointe Intermodal Center in Elwood. In his free time Matt enjoyed fishing, working on cars and being with his friends. He will be remembered as having a huge heart and always putting others before himself. He was a guy that could always lighten the mood and put a smile on anyone's face. Always joking, Matt found humor in everything and was considered a big teddy bear.

Survivors include his mother and step-father: Sandy and Bob Sanders and brother and sister-in-law Jon and Amanda Noyes, of Wilmington; aunts and uncles: Bill (Carol) Long and John (Nancy) Long, of Wilmington, Bob (Sue) Long of Joliet, Janet (Don) Lund of Wilmington and Gene (the late Mac) Noyes of Virginia; cousins: Kevin, Meaghan, Shawn, Becky, Danny, Kristin, Lily, Anna, Lynn, Josh, Jeremy, Kelly, Cathy, Larry and David, and two great aunts: Mary Long and Loretta Long.

Matt was preceded in death by his father John R. Noyes (1985), maternal grandparents: Bill and Phyllis Long; paternal grandmother Ina Whitcomb and two aunts: Gail Long-Nolan and Mac Noyes.

Visitation and video tribute will be held on Friday June 7, 2013 between the hours of 4:00PM and 7:00PM at Freitag-Reeves & Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington. Funeral services will follow Saturday morning June 8th at 10:00AM in the funeral home with Reverend Steve Bondi from Saint Rose Catholic Church in Wilmington officiating.

Burial will be in Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery, Wilmington. Pallbearers will be: Mike Warriner, Danny Long, Glenndon Daniels, Ryan Bolin, Jason Barnett and Gary Harvell.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Matt's memory to Kuzma Care Cottage, 635 South Main Street, Wilmington, Illinois 60481 or to The Wilmington School District Foundation for Excellence, 209u Wildcat Court, Wilmington, Illinois 60481.
