Matthew Jason Grimes

Age 39 of Bourbonnais, formerly Manhattan, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, July 1st at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee.

Born December 16, 1974 in Joliet, Matthew is a son of Lola Elaine (nee Morris) and the late Charles Michael Grimes. He was raised and educated in Manhattan, and went on to be employed by Aux Sable Liquid Products. Matthew was fond of fishing, animals and motorcyles, and will be especially remembered for being an avid Chicago sports fan.

Matthew is survived by his mother: Elaine Grimes of Bourbonnais; one brother: Michael Grimes of Watseka; niece and nephew: William and Melissa Grimes, both of Ashkum; three uncles: Ray (Sue) Morris of Golconda, Stanley (Linda) Morris of Iuka and Marc (Deena) Morris of Enfield, as well as numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father Charles, paternal grandparents: Charles and Mildred Grimes and maternal grandparents: Lola and Dee Morris.

Per Matthew's wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and a memorial service will be held at a future date to be determined.

Preferred memorials may be made in Matthew's memory as gifts to the charity of the donor's choosing.
