Mary B. Ritter
Age 81 of Wilmington, passed away Friday May 13, 2011 at Morris Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
Born August 9, 1929 in Danville, Illinois, Mary was a daughter of the late Harry and Eva McClatchey-Powell. Together Mary and her husband Walter Robert Ritter operated and managed the Will County Sportsman's Club for numerous years, and later owned and operated Bob's Trading Post Antiques in Wilmington for more than 20 years. Mary was also a former employee with Johnson and Johnson Personal Products in Wilmington; had a great love for Bingo and enjoyed reading. She can be remembered for her love of nature and family, and cherished her dog Buster.
Mary is the mother of Robert J. (Jean) Ritter of Morris; grandmother of Jason (Jen) Hammen of Bloomington-Normal, Jeffrey Ritter of Ohio and Kyle Ritter of Morris and sister to Eleanor (the late Monty) Jenkins and Lester Powell, both of Danville.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Walter Robert Ritter on September 23, 1998; two sisters: Dorothy and Joan and five brothers: Randy, Harry Max, Gordon, Dennis and Larry.
Visitation will be held on Monday May 16, 2011 from 10:30AM until time of funeral service 11:30AM at Freitag-Reeves & Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Wilmington.
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Mary's memory to the Alzheimer's Association for Dementia Research.
