Mary Rebecca Powers
"Becky"
Age 78 of Morris and formerly the Joliet area, passed away Wednesday January 30, 2008 at Morris Hospital.
Born June 29, 1929 in Cheatham County, Tennessee, Becky was a daughter of the late George Washington and Mary Lena Louallen-Hudgens. She was raised and educated in the Cheatam and Mongomery Counties of Tennessee and worked many years as a waitress and bartender at Al's Steak House and the Colonial Steak House. In her free time Becky enjoyed fishing and watching game shows on T.V., and was very family orientated.
Survivors include one son Gerald L. Valentine and one granddaughter Moni R. Valentine, both of Liberal, Kansas; three brothers: George Hudgens of Joliet, Albert Hudgens of Morris and Nelson Hudgens of Kentucky; two sisters: Sible (William) Valentine of Morris and Stella Drabek of New Lenox and one sister-in-law Anna Hudgens of Joliet, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Becky was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers: George Hudgens, Jr., Ervin Hudgens and James Hudgens; three sisters: Evelyn Evans, Helen Love and Louise Pace; three sisters-in-law: Delores, Pearl and Ruby, one brother-in-law William Drabek and one nephew Craig Hudgens.
Memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 1st 2008 at 2:00PM at Cherry Hill Church of Christ in New Lenox.
Preferred memorial in lieu of flowers, may be made as gifts in Becky's memory to a charity of the donors choice.
