Mary Janice Pitner (nee Ryan)

Age 64 of Wilmington and formerly Coal City, passed away unexpectedly Monday April 09, 2007 at her home.

Born October 14, 1942 in Coal City, Mary was a daughter of the late Francis E., Sr. and Elsie M. (Barton) Ryan. She was raised and educated in Coal City and was a graduate of Coal City High School with the class of 1959. On September 25, 1966 Mary married Charles Pitner in the Coal City United Methodist Church and together they lived their entire married life in Coal City. Mary worked for Mobil Gas Station in Coal City, where she was an assistant manager, Citgo Gas Station in Coal City and was manager at Casey's General Store in Diamond. Mary was a connoisseur of good food, she loved cats, birds, playing cards and games and spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include her sister Cheryl Ryan of Wilmington; one brother-in-law Harold "Fred" Rohrbach of Morris; nieces and nephews: Francis E., III. "Butch" (Stephanie) Ryan of Coal City, Loretta (Rick) Stevens of Oldsmar, Florida, Maxine (David) Finger and Janet (Gary) Planeta, both of Coal City and Kurt (Gail) Rohrbach of Joliet; several great nieces and great nephews and her special friend Judy Zotos of Lemont.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles in 1973, two brothers: Francis E. Ryan, Jr. and Richard Howard and one sister Vivian Rohrbach.

Visitation and video tribute will be held on Thursday April 12, 2007 from 9:00AM until time of services 11:00AM at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block North of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City.

Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Wilmington.
