Mary C. Macier
Age 91 of Coal City, passed away Monday January 3, 2011 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet.
Born October 21, 1919 in Joliet, Mary was a daughter of the late Frank and Loretto Kelly-Holehan. She was raised and educated in Joliet, and graduated from Joliet Township High School with the class of 1937. On October 10, 1942 Mary married Charles Nelson Macier in St. Mary Carmalite Church in Joliet. She was a member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church in Coal City, volunteered at the Coal City Food Pantry and was a member of Coal City Library Book Club. In Mary's free time she enjoyed being a part of the "The Ranch Girls", golfing, line dancing, doing aerobics and exercising. Mary will be remembered as one of the Campfire Girls at the Macier Family Reunion in 2008.
Survivors include six children: Mary Lou (Les) Gomora of Naperville, Chuck (Mary Anne) Macier of Plainfield, Laurie (Ed) Garland of Channahon, Rita Bradley of Joliet, Jody (Doug) Randolph of Wilmington and Jim (Lyn) Macier of Coal City; eleven grandchildren: Keith (Lara) Gomora, Marc (Angela) Gomora, Allison Macier, Alex Macier, Chad (Becky) Garland, Sean Garland, Meghan Garland, Kate (Brad) Foster, Doug (Dawn) Randolph, Loni (Mike) Haddock and Samantha (Christopher) Yates; twelve great grandchildren: Otto, Mia, Aiden, Kaia, Jack, Addison, Ruby, Macie, Jack, Rory, Taylor and Cameron, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Charles on July 26, 1999; one son in infancy; three brothers: William, Robert, and John Patrick "JP" Holehan and one sister: Patricia Gierich.
Visitation and Video Tribute will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2011 between the hours of 4:00pm and 8:00pm at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block North of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City. Funeral services will follow on Friday, January 7, 2011 in Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, 245 South Kankakee Street in Coal City, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Reverend Robert Noesen officiating.
Private family interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery in Romeoville and Keith Gomora, Marc Gomora, Chad Garland, Sean Garland, Doug Randolph, Brad Foster, Mike Haddock and Alex Macier will act as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers.
Preferred memorial may be made as gifts in Mary's memory to the Provena Hospice.
