Mary L. Hawks
Age 80 of Mazon and formerly of Clinton and Wilmington, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon June 3, 2014 at Morris Hospital.
Born January 13, 1934 in Hayti, Missouri, Mary Lee was a daughter of the late Raymond and Ora Beatrice Williams-Womack. She was raised and educated in Wardell, Missouri and graduated from Wardell High School with the class of 1951. Mary enjoyed being a homemaker, and while living in Wilmington attended the First Baptist Church. In her free time, Mary took pleasure in quilting, gardening, and fishing.
Survivors include five children: Lenny (Barbara) Hawks of Colorado, Sherita (Charles) Friddle of Wilmington, Alan (Donna) Hawks of South Carolina, Glen (Carla) Hawks of South Carolina, and Deb (Doug) Henline of Coal City; eighteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Harlond (Frances) Womack, Paul (Billie) Womack and Ruth (Leonard) Williams; brothers and sisters-in-law: Sally (the late Bob) Frazier, Mary Frances (Joe) Campbell, Sydney (Dot) Hawks, Doug (Sandy) Hawks, Judy (Clarence) Whitt, Brenda (the late Roy) Scheidhauer, Joyce (Emery) Bazell, Sue Hawks and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband James on September 23, 2011; one son Terry Hawks; brother Dewey Womack; sister Geraldine Broyles; brother-in-law Bobby Dale Hawks and one sister-in-law: Doris (James) Faucett.
Visitation will be held on Saturday June 7, 2014 from 10:00AM until time of funeral service 12:00 Noon at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Wilmington.
Pallbearers will be: Aaron Hawks, Christopher Hawks, Justin Friddle, Eric Friddle, Ryan Friddle, Lonnie Henline, Lucas Hawks, Travis Hawks and Gavin Hawks.
Preferred memorial may be made as gifts in Mary's memory to: The Alzheimer's Association or Grundy Community Volunteer Hospice.
