Mary Coleman Hammen
Age 70 of Wilmington, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at Silver Cross Hospital with her loving family at her side. Born April 20, 1944 in San Antonio, Texas Mary was a daughter of the late Philip and Myra Scriven-Cosgrove. She worked as a respiratory therapist for numerous hospitals throughout the state of Arizona where she retired after more than twenty years of service. Mary also worked as a resource librarian at the Wilmington Public Library. She enjoyed reading and her greatest love was her family and grandson.
Survivors include her daughter: Anjali (Kevin) Tierney of Phoenix, Arizona; grandson: K.J.; sister: Sharon (Tom) Mosier and brother: Joseph Cosgrove both of Wilmington as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; and husband Bill “Brick” Hammen in 2002.
Memorial Visitation and video tribute will be held on Saturday May 3, 2014 from 9:00AM until 10:30AM at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington. Rosary will be recited at 10:30 am by the Legion of Mary followed by a Celebration of Mary’s Life at 11:00AM. Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Mary’s memory to the Wilmington Public Library, 201 South Kankakee Street, Wilmington, Illinois 60481.
