Mary Frances Burch
(Nee Vogt)
Age 63 of Coal City, passed away Tuesday July 13, 2010 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home.
Born June 26, 1947 in Joliet, Mary was a daughter of the late Francis and Mildred Jiran-Vogt. Mary was raised and educated in Joliet, and graduated from St. Francis Academy with the class of 1965. On August 5, 1967, Mary married David Burch at St. Paul The Apostle Catholic Church in Joliet. After marriage they lived in Romeoville prior to moving to Coal City in 1978. Mary was a member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church in Coal City, where she was involved with the CCW and taught CCD. She loved to read and cherished caring for and spending time with her grandchildren. Mary can also be remembered for having enjoyed sewing, needlework and gardening.
Survivors include her husband: David; two children: Teresa (Keith) Scerine and Jeffrey Burch both of Coal City; four grandchildren: Erin Scerine, Jack Scerine, Kyle Burch and Connor Burch; one brother: Ed Vogt of Crown Point, IN; two sisters: Carolyn (Chuck) Bruno of Joliet and Nancy (the late Dan) Davies of Bolingbrook; four brothers and sisters in law: Robert (Mandy) Burch of Coquille, OR, Paul (Kit) Burch of Everett, WA, Michael (Ruth) Burch of Seattle, WA, Patrick (Margie) Burch of Ashland, OR; mother-in-law: Llewlyn (the late Joseph "Pat") Burch of Joliet as well as several nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents and step-mother Marie K. Niesen-Vogt.
Visitation will be held on Saturday July 17, 2010 between the hours of 9:00 am and 10:30 am at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block North of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City. Funeral Services will follow Saturday at 11:00 am in Assumption Catholic Church in Coal City, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Reverend Robert Noesen officiating. Family burial will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
Preferred memorials in lieu of flowers may be made as gifts in Mary's memory to the St. Jude's Childrens Hospital a�" Partners in Hope.
