Age 88, a resident of Heritage Health Care in Dwight, and formerly of Braidwood, passed away Monday evening April 20, 2015 at OSF Saint Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington.

Born August 22, 1926 in Braceville, Mary Margaret was a daughter of the late Louis and Frances (Feltenz) Buffo. She was raised on the family farm and went to work at the Rockdale Navy Yards, before gaining employment with the Joliet Arsenal and later Grinchuck Pants Factory. Mary was most known however as a beautician, and worked locally in Braidwood most of her life. She played the accordion and the guitar, and was part of a small combo band in the 1950’s. Mary also enjoyed traveling domestically in her earlier years. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Braidwood, and was proud to be a devoted Catholic.

Survivors include her sister Grace Hatch of Braidwood; nephews and niece: Gerald Hatch, Jr. of Wilmington, Louis Glen Hatch of Braidwood, Francine Palmer of Emington, Wayne L. McComb of Morris, Kenneth McComb of St. Anne and George McComb of Verona, and numerous great nieces and great nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; brother Dominic Buffo and sister Agnes McComb.

The family will receive friends at Immaculate Conception Church, 110 S. School Street in Braidwood on Monday April 27, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service 11:00 a.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Reverend Show Reddy Allam officiating. Private family burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Braidwood.

Pallbearers will be: Gerald Hatch, Jr., Louis Glen Hatch, Wayne L. McComb, Kenneth McComb, George McComb and Nick Palmer. Francine Palmer will be an honorary pallbearer.

Preferred memorials may be made as Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 110 S. School St., Braidwood, IL 60408 or for Masses in Mary’s memory.
