Mary L. Brockman, 89, of Morris, passed away Sunday, December 5, 2021 at her home with her family by her side.
Born December 27, 1931 in Morris, she was the daughter of John and Selma (Nelson) Donahoe. She graduated from Saint Angela Academy in Morris. She married Kenneth Brockman on January 27, 1952 in Morris. Mary was employed for a short time at Copley Hospital in Aurora. For many years she was an election judge for Wauponsee Township.
She is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth; six children, Victoria McDonald of Macomb, Peter (Roberta) Brockman of Verona, David (Pamela) Brockman of Verona, Timothy Brockman of Morris, Thomas (Tina) Brockman of Mazon and Regina (James) Milostan of Lee; 13 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 2 great, great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents and 2 grandchildren, Evan and Miranda Brockman.
She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Pieces from the Heart Quilt Guild and enjoyed her trips to the Coal City Area Club especially Fourth of July picnics.
Mary enjoyed painting, traveling, quilting, researching family history, baking and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church with Fr. Jason Stone officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 10, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Fruland Funeral Home, 121 W. Jefferson St. in Morris.
