Mary Lavina Albrecht

Age 89 of Coal City, passed away Friday July 4, 2014 at Morris Hospital.

Born November 4, 1924 in Chicago, Mary was a daughter of the late James and Mary "Mayme" (Ryan) Roy. She was raised and educated in Coal City, and graduated from Coal City High School. On July 27, 1947, Mary married David Hamilton Albrecht in the rectory of Assumption Catholic Church in Coal City, and he preceded her in death on May 27, 2014. Mary was a member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church and will be remembered for her love of family.

Survivors include four children: Terry McIntyre of Birmingham, Alabama, Meg (Steve) Fleming of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, Liz (Tom) Yeates of Pearland, Texas and Becky Wisman of Coal City; her daughter-in-law Lynn Albrecht of Coal City; ten grandchildren: Marissa McIntyre, Michael McIntyre, Steven McIntyre, David Fleming, Nathan (April) Albrecht, Kristi Albrecht, Brad (Julie) Overton, Stacy (Scott) Klee, Sarah Wisman and Joshua Wisman; (12) great grandchildren: Naiya, Jordana, Lauren, Amanda, Dana, Cole, Sophia, Jasmin, Savannah, Mason, Christian and Devin; one brother James Roy of Coal City and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband David; son Frank; sister Shirley (Vic) Monbrum, and brothers and sisters-in-law: Willa Mae Roy, Fritz Albrecht, Josephine (Dominic) Giordano, Velma (William) Smith, Marquerite (Ted) Smith and Dale (Dorothy) Albrecht.

Visitation and video tribute will be held on Thursday July 10, 2014 between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block north of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City. Funeral services will follow Friday July 11th at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Reverend Walter Carlson from the Coal City United Methodist Church will officiate.

Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Wilmington, where she will be laid to rest with her husband David.
