Martha Jane Bardell, 87, of Morris, Illinois passed away Saturday December 21, 2024 at her home.
Born on June 28, 1937 in Mansfield, Missouri, Martha was the daughter of the late Etheridge Cooley and Martha Lois Hensley. Martha was retired after many years as a beloved elementary school teacher at Saratoga Grade School in Morris, where she taught 2nd and 4th grade. She came to Morris from Springfield in the late 1960’s to begin her career and retired at the age of 55 in 1992. She was a favorite teacher, beloved friend and devoted wife and mother.
Survivors include her husband Marshall Bardell, her sons Scott Bardell of Fridley, Minnesota, Mark Bardell of Lockport, Illinois and Michael Bardell and his wife Kathleen of Alpharetta, Georgia. Martha had 4 grandchildren, Deandra and Ben (Scott) and Beau and Claire (Michael). Martha was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Rick.
The family will hold a Celebration of Life ceremony in at a time to be determined.
