Age 44 of Plainfield and formerly of Downers Grove, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 5, 2017.

Born March 22, 1973 in Naperville, Mark William is the son of Lynne M. (nee Cunningham) Crabtree of Downers Grove and George William Crabtree of Chicago. He was raised in Downers Grove; graduated from Downers Grove North High School Class of 1991, and went on to attend Augustana College, as well as Illinois State University. On April 28, 2001, Mark married Deborah Mack in Assumption Catholic Church in Coal City.

Mark fulfilled his dream to open his own gym and is the founder and president of Ignite Fitness, Inc. in Naperville. He also held the position of Director of Sports Performance at the  Bulls Sox Training Academy in Lisle.

Mark was a member of the Naperville Chamber of Commerce, Plainfield Athletic Club, where he served on the board of directors, the Coal City Area Club, and the Plainfield Bass and Gill Club. He was also proud to be a Watch Dog Dad at Liberty Elementary School.

Mark enjoyed fishing, cooking, and grilling, as well as coaching both softball and baseball.  He took pleasure in reading and was both a Star Wars and a Harry Potter enthusiast. Family was of the utmost importance to Mark, and he cherished time spent with his wife and children.

Survivors include his parents; wife Debbie; daughter Madelyne; son Will; aunts and uncles: Susan (Leslie) Drogos of Bloomingdale, Leonard (the late Patricia) Bartels of Westchester, Elizabeth (John) Aten of Ohio, Frank (Mona) Erite of Bartlett and Carl (Carolyn) Erite of Grayslake; his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Kenneth G. and Mary Pat Mack of Coal City; sister-in-law Judy Stevens of Roscoe; brother-in-law Kenny (Nicole) Mack of Morris; nieces and nephews: Emily, Joshua and Molly Stevens and Grace, KC, Lane and Liam Mack, and numerous extended family and friends, as well as his faithful friend Cooper.

Mark was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Madeline and Carl Erite and Charles Cunningham; paternal grandparents: Elizabeth Crabtree and George W. and Mary Crabtree, and his faithful four-legged friends: Rabb and Mac.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 9, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Home , 24021 Royal Worlington Drive in Naperville, Illinois. (Phone: 630-922-9630)

A celebration of Mark's life will follow Saturday, June 10th at 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home with Reverend Brad Shumaker from Coal City United Methodist  Church officiating.

Burial will be in Braceville-Gardner Cemetery in Braceville, Illinois.

Pallbearers will be: Kyle Kobernus, Jim Adduci, Tom Sanderson, Paul Kieffer, Russ Baker and Bill Malone.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Mark's memory to his family for the acquisition of books to be donated to local libraries.
