Marjorie Lee Joneson

Age 84 of Coal City, passed away Wednesday morning, March 21, 2007 at Morris Hospital.

Born February 17, 1923 in Girard, Illinois, Marjorie was a daughter of the late George and Nellie (Floyd) Greenan. She was raised and educated in Coal City until moving to Mountain View, Missouri where she married Raymond Jackson Russell. In 1963 Marjorie moved back to Coal City where she then lived the remainder of her life. Marjorie was a member of the Coal City United Methodist Church. She attended many senior citizen functions and was the last "Gold Star Mother" surviving in Coal City.

Survivors include her daughter Carolyn Russell of Coal City and three sisters-in-law: Martha (Greenan) Zuk of Ottawa, Letha (Russell) Yarber of Mountain View, Missouri and Agnes (Russell) Hill of Willow Springs, Missouri, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, one son Cecil Russell in 1968; four brothers: Donald Greenan, Ronald Greenan, Tommy Greenan and Clarence Corcoran and five sisters: Lorene Boero, Morene Lear, Almeda Connolly, Georgia Domagalla and Helen Spivey.

Visitation will be held on Friday March 23, 2007 between the hours of 3:00PM and 7:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block North of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City. Funeral services will follow on Saturday March 24th at 10:00AM in the funeral home with Dr. Thomas Logsdon from the Coal City United Methodist Church officiating.

Burial will be in Braceville-Gardner Cemetery and pallbearers will be: Charles Boero, Tom Connolly, Don Domagalla, Cecil Greenan, Bill Lear, Gordon Lear, Billy Spivey and Danny Spivey.

Preferred memorial may be made as gifts in Marjorie's memory to the Alzheimer's Association.
