Marilyn J. O'Brien
Age 79 of Elwood, passed away Friday evening October 26, 2012 at Salem Village in Joliet.
Born August 28, 1933 in Joliet, Marilyn was a daughter of the late Harold and Margaret Petersen-Friddle. She was raised in Elwood and graduated from Joliet Township High School. Marilyn was married to Bernard H. O'Brien and he preceded her in death in 1986. Marilyn worked as a secretary at Olin Chemical and retired in 1985 after 25 years of service. She attended Elwood Community Church and will be remembered for her love of country and western music and horses.
Survivors include her children: Paula O'Brien and Craig (Laura) O'Brien, and one grandson Tony Canfarelli, all of Elwood, and one sister-in-law Evelyn (the late Robert) O'Brien of Rockdale.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband Bernard and one brother Donald.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday November 1, 2012 at 11:00AM in Maple Hill Cemetery in Elwood with Pastor Carrie Kapral from Elwood Community Church officiating.
