Marilyn J. Krell
Age 75 of Coal City and formerly Braceville, passed away Wednesday April 28, 2010 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home.
Born July 14, 1934 in Goose Lake Township, Grundy County, Marilyn was a daughter of the late Ervin and Jennie Small-Phillips. She was a graduate of Wilmington High School with the Class of 1952. In 1954 Marilyn married Gerald F. Krell in El Paso, Illinois, and together they lived most of their married life in Braceville. Marilyn was a member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church in Coal City, and was most commonly known for the devotion she had for her family.
Survivors include two daughters: Doreen Romero and her husband Rick and Mary Jane Krell-Larson and her husband Bobby, both of Coal City; four grandchildren: Brandon Romero, Lauren Romero, Jade Romero and Morgan Larson; two sisters: Mary (John) Manietta and Carol (Ron) Morin, both of Coal City and two sisters-in-law: Eugene (Norma) Krell and Mary (Charlie) Krell, both of Minnesota, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband Gerald F. Krell on March 6, 2001, son Gerald "Tiger" Krell and one sister Joan Shumacher.
Visitation will be held on Sunday May 2, 2010 between the hours of 3:00PM and 5:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block North of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City. Funeral services will follow Monday May 3rd at 10:00AM in the funeral home with Reverend Robert Noesen officiating.
Burial will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
