Marie M. Kurth
(nee Roou)
Age 89 of Wilmington, passed away peacefully Monday October 6, 2008 at her home. Born in Melrose, Wisconsin on September 13, 1919 Marie was a daughter of the late Oscar W. and Ada Farrand-Roou. The last remaining out of 8 children.
Marie was raised and educated in Wisconsin and was a graduate of Nina High School. She worked for Kimberly Clark Corporation and on August 17, 1941 Marie married Francis Kurth in St. Rose Catholic Church in Wilmington. She later worked and retired from the dental office of Dr. Delmar Tanck in Wilmington. She greatly enjoyed sewing, her home, family and visiting with friends. Marie was a former member of the Wilmington Firebells and also a member of St. Rose Catholic Church in Wilmington.
Survivors include her loving daughter: Jill Kurth of Westmont; two grandchildren: Noelle of Phoenix, Arizona and Courtney Harris of Wilmington; one grandson: Ty (Kerrie) Kurth of Crystal Lake; two great-grandchildren: Olivia Russell and Tanner Michael Harris; beloved nieces: Debbie (Max) Glass and Donna (Bud) Lombardi, both of Wilmington; her dear friend and caregiver: Holly of Mongolia; one brothera�"in-law: Bill Kurth of Arizona and one Daughtera�"in-law: Stephanie Kurth of McHenry, as well as numerous other nieces, nephews and relatives.
Marie was preceded in death by her parent; husband Francis; two sons: Mike and Jack; four brothers: Spencer (Madge), Stanley (Frances), Russell (Edna) and Foster (Lori) and three sisters: Lucille (Erwin), Edna (Edward), Margaret (Harold).
Visitation will be held on Thursday October 9, 2008 between the hours of 4:00PM and 8:00PM and Friday October 10th from 9:00AM to 9:30AM at Reeves Funeral Home, 219 North Joliet Street (2 blocks North of Illinois Route 53/Baltimore Street) in Wilmington. Funeral services will follow Friday at 10:00AM in St. Rose Catholic Church in Wilmington where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Reverend Steve Bondi and Deacon Donald Dyer officiating.
Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Wilmington and pallbearers will be: Bud Lombardi, Ty Kurth, Tom Bertani, Debbie Glass, Tom Kurth, Holly Nergai and Dick Campbell.
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Marie's memory to the Joliet Area Community Hospice, 250 Water Stone Circle, Joliet, Illinois 60431.
