Maria Jacobs

Age 47 of Coal City, passed away Thursday May 4, 2017 at Morris Hospital from a cardiac condition.

Born September 18, 1969 in Joliet, Maria Elizabeth was the daughter of the late Anthony and Gloria (DeGrush) Olivo. She was raised in Coal City, and graduated from Coal City High School with the class of 1987. On August 5, 2006 Maria married her best friend Thomas Jacobs at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. She was an avid reader, teddy bear collector and loved anything Disney. She was also a huge animal lover, especially bears.

Survivors include her husband Tom; daughter: Savannah; grandfather: Eugene "Pee-Wee" DeGrush; brother-in-law: Tim (Amy) Jacobs; nieces: Allison and Emily Jacobs, as well as countless close friends.

Maria was preceded in death by her parents and her grandmother: Margaret DeGrush.

A private burial will be held and Maria will be laid to rest next to her parents in Braceville-Gardner Cemetery.
