Age 93 of Coal City, Illinois passed away Friday January 2, 2015 at The Bickford House of Bourbonnais.

Born June 8, 1921 in LaSalle, Illinois, Margaret was a daughter of the late Nick and Edith (Gervase) Brancato. The family moved to Coal City in 1934. Margaret graduated from the Coal City High School with the class of 1938. She worked as a clerk at the Atlas Paper Mill until she married Edwin P. Viglia of Braidwood, Illinois on March 18, 1943 in Assumption Catholic Church. During World War II Margaret worked as a clerk in the Coal City Post Office until Edwin was released from the service. In 1951, Margaret was employed as a typist in the Accounts Payable Department for Uniroyal Chemical Company and was promoted to Supervisor and Executive Accountant, retiring after 31 years of service in 1982. Margaret was an active member of Assumption Parish, where she was an original member of The Martha's and honored as Woman of the Year in 2002. She was also a member of the Coal City Women's Club.

Surviving are her husband Edwin P. Viglia, Sr., one son Edwin (Susan) P. Viglia Jr. and one daughter Janis (A.J.) Gagliardo; four grandchildren: Jill Gagliardo of Seattle, Washington, Deanna (Gary) Cisneros of Swansboro, North Carolina, Edwin (Carolyn) Viglia, III of Kankakee, Illinois and Aron (Lawanda Velez) Gagliardo of Coal City, Illinois; four great grandchildren, Abigail and Nicholas Viglia and Isabella and Gabriel Cisneros, with another expected in April; her sister Edith Kinsella of Wilmington, Illinois, and sister-in-law Avis Brancato, as well as numerous niece and nephews.

Margaret was preceded in her death by her parents, Nick and Edith Brancato; brothers: Sam and George Brancato; sister, Sarah Brancato, and Sister-in-law, Ruth Brancato.

Visitation and video tribute will be held on Saturday January 10, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. until time of funeral services 11:00 a.m. at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block north of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City. Reverend Robert Noesen will officiate and burial will be in Braceville-Gardner Cemetery.

Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be: Jill Gagliardo, Aron Gagliardo, Deanna Cisneros, Edwin Viglia III, Carolyn Viglia, Phil McLuckie, Rich McLuckie, Brad Brancato and Nick Kinsella.
