Margaret L. Johnson

Margaret L. Johnson, 100, of Morris, passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at her home with her loving family by her side.
Born April 6, 1924 in Chicago, IL, she was the daughter of Algot and Gerda (Olson) Swanson. She lived in Chicago for a year, then moved to a farm near Kinsman, IL. She graduated from Mazon High School Class of 1942. She worked in Chicago for the Interlake Iron Corporation and at the Shipyards in Seneca, IL. She married Harry Johnson on October 9th, 1943 at the Lutheran Church in Seneca, IL. Later, she was employed at the Morris Savings and Loan for several years.
She is survived by her children, Karen Johnson of Morris, IL; Rodney (Pat deceased) Johnson of Morris, IL; Kandy (Tom Borneman) of Morris, IL; 8 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; daughter in-law Pat Johnson of Newark, IL; sister Janet Mass of Carlsbad, CA; and sister in-law Diane Swanson of TN.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Harry Johnson in 1975; son Richard Johnson in 2005; granddaughter Mandy Jahn; great grandchildren Ryan and Kaitlyn Jahn; and brothers Donald and Lennard Swanson.
She was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Morris, IL.
Memorials may be given to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church or donor’s choice. Funeral service will be held Friday, May 31,, 2024 at 11 am at Bethlehem Lutheran Church with Pastor Patrick Lohse officiating. Interment will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, May 31, 2024 at 9:30 am until time of service at the church.
