Margaret Ann Henke (nee Macketta)

Age 97 and a lifelong resident of Coal City, passed away Wednesday evening May 16, 2007 at Morris Hospital.

Born April 08, 1910 in Coal City, Margaret was a daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Fornelli) Macketta. She was raised and educated in Coal City and married John Henke in Assumption Catholic Church in Coal City. Together they lived their entire married life in Coal City and John preceded Margaret in death in 1986. Margaret was a seamstress her whole life and was a member of Assumption Catholic Church, where she was involved with the Altar and Rosary Society. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and crossword puzzles.

Survivors include one son John (Joyce) Henke and one daughter Juanita (Peter) Pantaleone, both of Coal City. Seven grandchildren: Beverly Henke of Coal City, Lori Borens of Gardner, James (Donna) Henke of Kankakee, Christine (Brian) Berta of Dwight, David (Jennifer) Pantaleone of Buffalo Grove, Karen "Liz" (Robert) Broucek of Braidwood and Diane (Randy) Alderson of Coal City. Eight great grandchildren: Nicole Borens, Anthony Berta, Matthew Pantaleone, Jean Pantaleone, Hollie Broucek, Kellie Broucek, Beth Alderson and Craig Alderson. Two brothers: James (the late Josephine) Macketta of Dwight and John (Mae) Macketta of Coal City. One sister Christine (the late Raymond) Henke and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, husband John, one grandson Michael Henke, one brother Joseph Macketta and two sisters: Lorraine Macketta and Marie Williamson.

Visitation will be held on Friday May 18, 2007 from 9:00AM until 10:45AM at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block North of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City. Funeral services will follow at 11:00AM in Assumption Catholic Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Rev. Mike Pennock officiating.

Burial will be in Braceville-Gardner Cemetery.
