Born January 8, 1926 on the family farm in rural Gardner, Lyle Allen was a son of the late Villeroy and Elsie (Buehler) Tambling. He was educated in the Maher and Monson country schools and was a 1942 graduate of Gardner South Wilmington High School. On February 19, 1949, Lyle married Norma Olson in the Cabery Presbyterian Church. Retiring in 2001, Lyle farmed for over 50 years, along with trucking, custom combining and custom spraying.
