Luther C. Peterson, Sr.

Age 80 of Channahon, passed away Thursday August 27, 2009 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home.

Born April 12, 1929 in Harlan, KY, Luther was a son of the late August and Irene Carden-Peterson. He retired from Reynolds Aluminum in McCook, IL in 1985 was known for his love of fishing, cards and NASCAR.

Survivors include (9) children: Luther C., Jr. (Mari) Peterson, Nathan J. (Beth) Peterson, Donna M. (Mike) Kucia, Michael (Michelle) Peterson, Mary E. Jagielski, Phillip (Lori) Peterson, Joanne (Tom) Eggleston, Christopher Peterson and Kelly R. (John) Blum; (20) grandchildren; (23) Great Grandchildren; (5) brothers; (3) sisters and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Luther was preceded in death by his parents and first wife Georgia.

Visitation will be Sunday August 30, 2009 from 12:00 Noon until time of funeral service 1:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 219 North Joliet Street (two blocks North of Illinois Route 53 / Baltimore Street) in Wilmington. Pastor Ron Taylor from Island City Baptist Church will officiate and burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Wilmington.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Luther's memory to Joliet Area Community Hospice, 250 Water Stone Cir., Joliet, IL 60431.
