Lucille M. Stevens

Age 82 of Wilmington, passed away Thursday July 1, 2010 at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet.

Born November 6, 1927 in South Wilmington, Lucille was a daughter of the late Joseph and Frances Domagalla-Maxard. She was a graduate of Gardner-South Wilmington High School with the Class of 1944 and married Lyle Stevens, who preceded her in death in 1986. Lucille retired from the United States Government (APSA) in 1973, where she worked as a secretary. She was a member of Saint Rose Catholic Church in Wilmington and the Wilmington V.F.W. Auxiliary. She was known for shopping and eating out, and was very proud of her 10 Godchildren, who range in ages from 40 to 70. Lucille cherished living life to the fullest and having a good time, and this included family gatherings and the time spent with her family.

Survivors include her son Ralph "Tuffy" (Ginny) Stevens of Braidwood; two grandchildren: Les (Kristin) Norman of Missouri and Penny (J.D.) Roach of Braidwood; five great grandchildren: Mackenzie, Tayt, Mason, Kyle and Heather; four sisters-in-law: Cecilia Maxard and Margaret Manegold, both of Gardner, Gloria Olsen of Belleville and Ruth Houseman of Pontiac; numerous nieces and nephews, including special niece and nephew Cathy and Tom Fatigante and extra special great-great nephews: Tommy, Billy and Joey, whom Lucille fondly referred to as "My Boys". Other survivors embrace Mandy, who was like a granddaughter to Lucille, and the Liebhart's, whom were her extended family.

Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; husband Lyle; brothers and sisters: Victoria, Clara, Mary, Faye, Joe, George and Rose; great grandson Brian and niece Clarie.
