Louise Hanley

Age 94 of Morris, passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at Pleasant View in Ottawa.

Born November 27, 1921 in Morris, Evelyn Louise was a daughter of the late Ernest and Christine (Paulsen) Murphy. She was raised and educated in Mazon and graduated from Mazon High School. On August 16, 1941, Louise married Francis Patrick Hanley in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Morris, where she remained a member. Louise worked hard on the farm, could often be found on a tractor, and will be remembered as a true baseball mom, as her boys played growing up. She greatly enjoyed sewing and quilt making, as well as being in her yard, tending to her flowers and gardening. Louise was a wonderful baker and created many cherished memories in the time honored tradition of baking Christmas cookies with her grandchildren, whom she adored.

Survivors include her children: Roger (Donna) Hanley of Tampa, Florida, Ken (Mary Carroll) Hanley of Morris and Judi (Craig) Nettleingham of Ottawa; (12) grandchildren; (20) great grandchildren; one sister-in-law Doris Murphy, and her special cousin Bob Hollenbeck of Seneca.

Louise was preceded in death by her parents; husband Frank; one brother James Murphy, and five sisters: Virginia (Edward) Zdroj, Vi (Marvin) Mathisen, Edna (Gilbert) Lauritzen, Edith (Hiram) Allison and Betty (Richard) White.

The family will receive friends at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 600 East Jackson Street in Morris on Monday, February 22, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. until time of funeral service 11:00 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Reverend Ed Howe, CR officiating.

Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Morris, where Louise will be laid to rest with her late husband Frank.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Louise's memory to the Immaculate Conception Building Fund, 516 East Jackson Street, Morris, Illinois 60450.
