Lorraine L. Cunnings
Age 79 of Wilmington, passed away Tuesday evening, March 15, 2011 at Prairieview Lutheran Home in Danforth.
Born July 11, 1931 in Custer Township, Lorraine was a daughter of the late Harold and Adeline Reardanz-Hoffman. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Wilmington and retired as the managing cashier of the former TCF Savings and Loan in Wilmington after 20 years of service. Lorraine took pleasure in playing cards, regularly participating in a local card club, as well as enjoyed dominos and ceramics. She can also be remembered for her love of spending time with her grandchildren and could often be found with the newest baby in her arms.
Survivors include her husband Robert J. Cunnings, Sr.; four children: Dolores (Louis) Girot of Wilmington, Robert (Pat) Cunnings, Jr. of Kankakee, Denise (Bruce) Sinkular of Braidwood and Larry (Mary Kay) Cunnings of Wilmington; eleven grandchildren: Steven (Tisha) Girot of Wilmington, Shelley (Scott) Morgan of Naperville, Tammi (Kevin) Douglas, Jackelyn (Donnie) Trammell, Kristi (Jeff) Woolman and Robert D. Cunnings, all of Kankakee, David (Christine) Sinkular of Braidwood, Jennifer (Bill) Lipke of Chicago, Jacob Sinkular of Braidwood and Christopher Cunnings and Barry Cunnings, both of Wilmington; nine great grandchildren; brothers: Glenn (Sandy) Hoffman of Kankakee and Vernon (Myrna) Hoffman of Bourbonnais; sisters: Cora Mae (John) Love of Custer Park and Doris (Frank) Dickey of Braceville and brothers and sisters-in-law: Minnie (Al) LeRoy of Wilmington, Raymond (Kay) Cunning of Oklahoma, Mae Rink of Wilmington, Don (Jodi) Cunning of Kankakee, Shirley (John) Cavanaugh of Wilmington and Harold "Hook" Cunning of South Wilmington, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents; one sister Carol Ann Hoffman; one daughter in infancy and one grandson Eric Cunnings.
Visitation and Video Tribute will be held on Saturday March 19, 2011 between the hours of 2:00PM and 5:00PM at Freitag-Reeves & Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington.
Funeral services will be Monday March 21st at 10:00AM in the funeral home with Reverend Mark A. Moon from First Presbyterian Church in Wilmington officiating.
Burial will follow at 11:30AM in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood with Lorraine's grandsons: Steven Girot, Robert D. Cunnings, David Sinkular, Jacob Sinkular, Christopher Cunnings and Barry Cunnings, acting as pallbearers.
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Lorraine's memory to Prairieview Lutheran Home, 403 North Fourth Street, Danforth, Illinois 60930.
