Loretta M. Funk (nee Pastore)
Age 80 of Coal City, passed away Friday morning, April 2, 2010 at the Morris Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Born May 28, 1929 in Morris, Loretta was a daughter of John and Loretta Halpin-Pastore. She was raised and educated in Coal City, and graduated from Coal City High School. Loretta married Kenneth Funk and all of their married life they lived together in Coal City. Loretta was a member of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church and a founding member of the Martha's. Loretta had worked at the Joliet Army Ammunition Plant (Uniroyal) and her greatest joy was her grandchildren.
Survivors include her son: Vince (Marcie) Funk of Morris and four grandchildren: Andrew, Patrick, Ryan and Madeline Funk as well as several nieces and nephews.
Loretta was preceded in death by her parents; husband Kenneth and one son Mike.
The family will receive friends on Monday April 5, 2010 from 9:00AM until 9:45AM at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block North of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City.
Funeral services will follow Monday at 10:00AM in Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, 245 South Kankakee Street in Coal City, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Reverend Ronald Hart officiating.
Burial will be in Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Wilmington.
Preferred memorials in lieu of flowers may be made as gifts in Loretta's memory to Joliet Area Community Hospice, 250 Water Stone Circle, Joliet, Illinois 60431.
