Lonial R. Lovellette

Lonial R. “Lon” Lovellette, 86, of Morris, passed away October 16, 2023 at Pavilion of Ottawa.
Born February 6, 1937 in Wasson, Il, he was the son of Hicen and Mildred (Owens) Lovellette. He graduated from El Dorado High School and later graduated from University of Illinois where he received his degree in agriculture. Lon married Karen Galliart on July 13, 1963 In Dorrance, Kansas and they lived most of their married life in Ottawa and Morris. He taught agriculture in southern Illinois. For many years he worked for the Federal Land Bank Association and in his retirement years was a real estate salesman.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Karen; his son, Kevin Lovellette of Chicago; his daughter-in-law, Marianne Lovellette of Normal; four grandchildren, Emma, Henry, William and Margaret; one brother, Lindell (Alice) Lovellette of Fort Myers, Florida; one sister, Ginger Lovellette and Richard Zuspan; two nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his son, Brett Lovellette and one brother, Lyman.
He was a member of Cross Lutheran Church in Yorkville and Morris Rotary Club.
Lon was an avid racing fan and enjoyed watching the Chicago Bulls and Cubs.
Memorials may be given to the donor’s choice.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 4, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Cross Lutheran
Church in Yorkville. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:30 A.M. until time of service at the church. Inurnment will take place at a later date.
