Lisa Ann Serna

Age 45 of Bloomington and formerly Wilmington, passed away November 16, 2013 at Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet.

Born August 25, 1968 in Joliet, Lisa is a daughter of Marshall Ray Penka of New Mexico and Cheryl Lynn Sparks-Penka of Wilmington. She was raised and educated in Wilmington and attended both Wilmington High School and Heartland Community College. Lisa was self employed and operated a cleaning service. She enjoyed watching movies, playing Sudoku, playing tennis and computer games and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her parents; four children: Latish Penka of Bloomington, Anthony Penka (Samantha Schad) of Eureka, Angelica Serna (Virgil Frattalone) of Walton, Nebraska and Keshia (Andrew) Harding of Normal; three grandchildren: Sofia Harding, Ethan Harding and Zander Schad; one brother Marshall (Barb) Penka of Bloomington; one sister Jodi (Rick) Makowski of Clinton; four nieces and nephews: Nathan Frost, Max Frost, Mariah Penka and Raquel Penka and several cousins.

Lisa was preceded in death by her grandparents: Bertie and Mary Sparks and Erwin and Bessie Penka; nephew Joshua Frost and niece Michelle Labuda.

The family will receive friends on Saturday November 23, 2013 from 10:00AM until time of funeral service 1:00PM at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington. Pastor Chris Beamsley from Grace Lutheran Church in Wilmington will officiate. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Lisa's memory to her family for their distribution.
