Age 91 of Wilmington, passed away Wednesday November 29, 2006 at his home surrounded by his family.

Born June 3, 1915 in Diamond, Leroy was a son of the late Charles and Bertha (Barstaff) Henke. On December 11, 1937 Leroy married Annabelle Hutton in Coal City and together they lived their entire married life in Lorenzo. Leroy farmed in the Lorenzo Road area all of his life and worked as a coal miner for 15 years. He was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church in Wilmington, The Morris Moose Lodge and was 3rd degree Knight of Columbus with the Braidwood Council #1574.

Survivors include his loving family: five sons: Donald (Helen) Henke, Lee (Fannie) Henke, Robert (Sandra) Henke, James (Pam) Henke and Jerry (the late Joann) Henke. One daughter Patricia (Larry) Dooley; (21) Grandchildren, (34) Great Grandchildren; (14) Great-Great Grandchildren; his sister-in-law Grace Hutton and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends.

Leroy was preceded in death by his parents, dear wife Annabelle, one granddaughter Carrie, three brothers and one sister in infancy.

Visitation will be held on Sunday December 3, 2006 between the hours of 2:00PM and 6:00PM and Monday December 4th from 9:00AM until 9:30AM at Reeves Funeral Home, 219 North Joliet Street (two Blocks North of Illinois Route 53 / Baltimore Street) in Wilmington. Funeral service will follow at 10:00AM in St. Rose Catholic Church in Wilmington, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Rev. Steve Bondi officiating.

Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Wilmington and friends and family are invited to join together for a funeral luncheon in St. Rose School Hall immediately following the graveside services.
