Lendell C. Mansfield
Age 82 of Coal City passed away Sunday August 13, 2017 at Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet.
Born April 6, 1935 in Alamo, Tennessee, Lendell Carroll was a son of Otis and Bedie (nee Climer) Mansfield. He was raised and educated in Alamo, and on June 22, 1957, he married Clora Frances Puckett in Chicago. Lendell was a heavy equipment operator and 50 year member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 150. He also worked part time at a farm in Grundy County, and enjoyed spending his time out on his dock on Lincoln Lake feeding the catfish.
Survivors include his wife: Clora F. Mansfield of Coal City; two children: David Mansfield of Morris and Charles Wayne (Shannon) Mansfield of DeKalb; three grandchildren: Madison, McKenna and Reagan; brother and sister: Tony (Dorothy) Mansfield and Avrone (Dennis) Maddox; and brother and sisters-in-law: Don (Ann) Puckett of Mississippi, and Linda (Jimmy) Nolen and Kay (Don) Knox, both of Alamo, Tennessee.
Lendell was preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sisters: Finis Mansfield, Iven “Jake” Mansfield, Homer Mansfield, Lexie Mansfield, Beauton King, Mignone Ballard and Mary Lou Moore; and brother and sister-in-law: Clyde Puckett and Ruth Pratt.
Per the family’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.
The family will receive friends for a memorial visitation on Saturday September 23, 2017 at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block north of Illinois Route 113), in Coal City between the hours of 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
