Larry Wilhelmi

Age 53 of Wilmington and formerly Joliet, passed away Friday October 21, 2011 at his home.

Born January 2, 1958 in Joliet, Larry was a son of the late Bernie and Alberta Griffin-Wilhelmi. He was a graduate of Joliet West High School with the Class of 1976 and worked for Wilhelmi Brothers Paving for over 25 years. Most recently Larry was employed as a manager with Whitmore Ace Hardware in Wilmington. Larry was a great sportsman and enjoyed racing, especially go-cart and NASCAR, hunting and dog breeding. He will also be remembered for his love of traveling.

Survivors include his daughter Juliann Wilhelmi of Missoula, Montana; one grandchild Mason Lynn Case and numerous friends: Eric Fox; Tom, Patty, his Godson Nick and Carly Hart, Tiffany Hnat, Dede Clennon, Brian and Sue Clodi, Jamie Melvin, Jamie Landers, Bob Crutchfield, Barb Bardel, Brian Seeley, Ray Lozier, John Grimes and Lil, Jeff and Theresa Fisher, Linda Bradford, Mary, Michael and David Cripe, Abe, Harry Litchfield, Tina Habing, Jill VanDuyne, Mary Creek, Murph Mitchell, Matt Ziakis and Bill Whitmore, as well as "The Dogs": Blaze, Tawney and Gunner.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents Bernie and Alberta Wilhelmi.

Cremation rites have been accorded per Larry's wishes and the family will receive friend on Thursday November 3rd between the hours of 6:00PM and 8:00PM at Freitag-Reeves & Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington.
