Lawrence L. Kenney

Lawrence L. Kenney, 83, of Morris, passed away Friday, May 5, 2023 at Ascension St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet with his family by his side.
Born November 17, 1939 in Morris, he was the son of Robert and Elizabeth (Stahl) Kenney. He attended Morris Community High School. Larry married Phyllis Petersen on April 5, 1959 in Morris and they lived all of their married life in Morris. For many years he was employed with carpenters Union Local 1092.
He is survived by his children, Vickey (deceased, Terry) Cockream of Florida, Lynn Kenney of Morris and Karen (Bud) Peterson of Morris; ten grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; three sisters, Anita Shipla of Morris, Diane Richardson of Michigan and Joyce (Brian) Hettel of Ottawa; several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his loving wife, Phyllis in 2014; two sons, Ronald and Robert Kenney; four grandchildren; three brothers, Robert, Donald and Dennis Kenney.
He enjoyed collecting arrowheads, fossils, loved fishing and metal detecting. For many years he coached boxing and was a Morris Redskins fan.
Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.
Private graveside services will be held Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. Kevin Yandell officiating.
