LaVerne Baudino
Age 90 of Kinsman, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, July 29, 2016.
Born January 4, 1926 in Coal City, LaVerne was a daughter of Dominic and Rose (Mitchka) Piagno. She was raised in Coal City and graduated from Coal City High School with the Class of 1944. On November 9, 1946, LaVerne married Peter J. Baudino in Aurora.
LaVerne was an active and lifelong member of Coal City United Methodist Church, which remained such an important part of her life. She participated in nearly every aspect in the life of the church, and this included, but was not limited to the United Methodist Women, Friendship Circle, the Building Committee and the Building Fundraising Committee. She will also be remembered for her home brewed tea, which was shared for most all meals served at the church.
LaVerne was a great cook, who enjoyed floral arranging, antiques and flower gardening. In years past she also took great pleasure in crafts.
Survivors include her two children: Rodney (Artina) Baudino of Mazon and Lowanda Kail of Eagan, Minnesota; grandchildren: Jayson (Haven) Baudino and their host home children: Tommy and Donnie, of Astoria, Illinois, Jared (Robin) Baudino and their children: Jaycob, Landon, Ryland and Grace of Quincy, Illinois and Bain Kail of Minneapolis, Minnesota; one step-grandson Thomas (Christina) Dick and their daughter Savanah Belle of Diamond; one brother-in-law: Jack (Marijayne) Baudino of Kinsman and numerous nieces and nephews.
LaVerne was preceded in death by her parents; husband Peter and two sisters: Evelyn (Martin) Gross and Dorothy (Francis) Perino.
Visitation will be held at the Coal City United Methodist Church, 6805 East McArdle Road in Coal City on Thursday, August 4, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. until time of funeral service 12:00 noon. Funeral services will be officiated by Reverend Brad Shumaker. Burial will follow in Wilmington's Oakwood Cemetery, where LaVerne will be laid to rest with her late husband Peter.
Pallbearers will be: Jayson Baudino, Jared Baudino, Bain Kail, Thomas Dick, David Baudino, Duane Baudino, James Baudino and Steve Baudino.
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in LaVerne's memory to the Coal City United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, Joliet Area Community Hospice or to the Grundy County Sheriff's Police Association.
