Lavergne Mary Clancy
Age 93 of Wilmington, passed away Friday May 3, 2013, at Joliet Area Hospice Home.
Born July 03, 1919 in Chicago Lavergne was a daughter of the late John and Mary Shanahan-Clancy. She was raised and educated in Chicago, and worked as a secretary for many years at Commonwealth Edison until her retirement.
Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews including: Kathie and Marc Schottenhamel; great nephew and great niece Scot Schottenhamel and Julie Hasselberg and great-great niece Caitlin Hasselberg, as well as special friends: Sr. Ann Ellen Quick BVM, Rosie Bell, and Sandy Altiery.
Lavergne was preceded in death by her parents: John and Mary Clancy; one brother John M. Clancy and three sisters: Rosemary Clancy; Sr. Ann Clancy BVM and Genevieve Kennedy.
Cremation rites have been accorded per the wishes of Lavergne.
The family will receive friends at Saint Rose Catholic Church, 603 South Main Street in Wilmington on Saturday May 11, 2013 from 9:00AM until time of funeral service 10:00AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be officiated by Reverend Steve Bondi. Inurnment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Wilmington, where Lavergne will be laid to rest with her sister Rosemary.
