Laura Lee Davis

Age 75, of Wilmington, Illinois, died on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, Illinois. 

Born on July 8, 1949, in Joliet, Laura was raised in Wilmington, where she attended Wilmington High School. She embarked on a dedicated career at Precision Components Inc., where she worked diligently until her well-earned retirement. 

She was a proud and dedicated member of the Ladies Auxiliary at VFW Post 5422 in Wilmington, and an active supporter of the local public library.

With a love for creativity, Laura enjoyed a variety of activities, especially crafting—diamond art being her favorite. She also found joy in bingo and was a devoted fan of the Wilmington Wildcats and the San Francisco 49ers. Laura's love for animals was evident, especially in the special bond she shared with her two beloved cats.

Above all, family was at the center of Laura's heart. She cherished every moment spent with loved ones, particularly during family cookouts, where laughter and togetherness created lasting memories. Laura had a heart of gold—kind, compassionate, and deeply loved by all who knew her.

Survivors include her granddaughter, Jeanette Demere, of Wilmington; sister Jessie Davis, of Wilmington; three nephews: Floyd Patrick of Dickson, Tennessee, Rayme (Kelly) Davis of Wilmington and Alan (Michelle) Bower of Charlotte, Tennessee; one niece, Mary Patrick of Mattoon, Illinois, and  several great nieces and nephews, as well as her two cats: Smokey and Gambit. 

Laura is preceded in death by her parents; one son, Lee Demere and one sister, JoAnn Bower. 

Per her wishes cremation rites are being accorded and a celebration of Laura's life will be held at a later date. 

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Laura's memory to the Veterans Association.
