Larry Ervin Larson, 82, of Sheridan went home to the with the Lord Tuesday November 22 at Rush Copley Medical Center In Aurora with family at his side.
Larry was born October 2, 1940 in Nettle Creek Township to the late Ervin and Rachael Larson. He married Sharon Thorson on August 12, 1961.
Larry was a graduate of Morris High School and attended the University of Illinois.
Larry loved farming and traveling in his semi-truck with his son Kenny by his side and later Sharon traveled all 48 states with him.
Larry was a member of Newark Lutheran Church. He served on Newark Lutheran Church Board, Newark Farmers Grain, Newark Retirement Home and Newark Fire Department.
He enjoyed playing Euchre with his neighbors. He enjoyed traveling all over Europe with his brother-in-law Wes and sister Lorraine. The last 17 years he and Sharon traveled in their motorhome.
His greatest joy in life were his children, grandchildren and great granddaughters. He loved all the fun and laughter with them
Larry is survived by his loving wife for 61 years. His sons Kenny (Kim) of Newark, Scott of Seneca and daughter Lori (Jim) Updike of Sandwich. Eight grandchildren Jackie Kutsinksi (Alex) of Chicago, Brooke (Stuart) Warpinski of Oswego and Clint Updike of Sandwich, Sammi (Jerome) Larson of Oswego, Mike (Megan) Larson of Marseilles, Katie (Scottie) Larson of Millington, Lindsey (Rigs) Larson of Sheridan and Chad (Courtney) Larson of Chicago. Two great granddaughters, Charlotte and Florence Warpinski of Oswego. His sister Cheryl Coop of Morris and brother-in-law Wesley Severson and Loraine Jackson and beloved nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his son Craig, his sister Lorraine Severson and brother-in-law Robert Coop.
Visitation will be 4-8 P.M. Sunday, November 27, 2022. Funeral Services 11:00 A.M. Monday all at Newark Lutheran Church. Pastor John Benson will officiate. Internment at Sheridan Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to Newark Lutheran Church or Open Door in Sandwich.
Fruland Funeral Home, 121 W. Jefferson St. in Morris is in charge of arrangements.
