Larry J. Hinthorne

Age 85 of Normal, Illinois, died Sunday, November 17 ,2024 Carle BroMenn Medical Center in Normal.

Born October 3, 1939 in El Paso, Illinois, Larry Jay was a son of Lewis and Alice (Farrell) Hinthorne. He was raised and educated in El Paso, and worked as a truck driver for many years, first in liquor distribution and later concrete and rock transportation. Larry was a member of the El Paso Church of the Nazarene and had a strong love of the Lord. Spending time with his family was his favorite past time, happiest when surrounded by his children and grandchildren. Though we are sad to part with Larry, his faith was strong and he was unafraid, counting down the days until he was called Home.

Survivors include two children: Tammy (Joe) Rever of Lincoln, Illinois and Larry (Cindy) Hinthorne, Jr. of Downs, Illinois; four grandchildren: Diane Bradford of Farmer City, Illinois, Brick (Amanda) Hinthorne of Ellsworth, Illinois, Jayden (Brad) Wiens of Downs, Illinois, and Tanna Hinthorne of Normal, Illinois; nine great grandchildren: Kaitlyn and Mason Bradford, Liam, Nolan, Emersen, and Sloan Hinthorne, and Garner, Quentin, and Avery Wiens; one brother, LaVerne (Joyce) Hinthorne of El Paso, Illinois, and one sister, Fern Wilson of Lincoln, Illinois; and two nieces and three nephews.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, two nephews, and one brother-in-law.

Cremation rites are being accorded and the family is planning a graveside service at a later date.
