Kirk A. Rode
Age 62 of Coal City, passed away Monday morning, February 22, 2016 at his home.
Born August 10, 1953 in Waukegan, Illinois, Kirk Andrew was a son of the late Ruebin A. and Jean A. (Delander) Rode. He was raised and educated in Waukegan and went on to serve in the United States Marines Corps, during the Vietnam Conflict. Kirk retired from the Laborers Union Local #75, and will be remembered for his love of gardening, cooking, baking and the Chicago White Sox.
Survivors include his wife Renee Macaluso, whom he married November 1, 2013; son Kirk Rode, II, daughter Jennifer Hill; step-son Kobe Shelby; five grandchildren; brother and sisters: Patty Sue (Berton) Willoughby, Robert Rode, Melinda (the late John) Bjorgen and Jeannette Hrischuk; his uncle Emil Rode; mother-in-law: Noreen McGraw; father-in-law: Joseph (Jean) Macaluso; brother-in-law Chad (Mary) Macaluso; sister-in-law: Jolene (Jim) Giaudrone and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Kirk was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Mark Rode in infancy.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at Reeves Funeral Homes, Ltd., 75 North Broadway (one block north of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City. Cremation rites will be accorded following the visitation and inurnment will be private.
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Kirk's memory to his family for their distribution.
