Kenneth H. Scholey

Age 44 of Wilmington, passed away Thursday October 25, 2012 at Presence Saint Mary's Medical Center in Kankakee.

Born June 10, 1968 in Joliet, Ken was a son of the late James C. and Martha Howard-Scholey. He was raised in Wilmington, graduated from Wilmington High School with the Class of 1986 and earned his Associates Degree from Joliet Junior College. On June 6, 2000, Ken married Tina M. McMahon in Wheaton and together they lived in Gardner prior to moving to Wilmington. Ken was a member of Saint Rose Catholic Church in Wilmington and will be remembered for his love of playing on pool leagues, fishing and camping. He enjoyed the ocean and beach, cherished his dog Shadow and was a great Chicago Cubs fan.

Survivors include his wife Tina; three step-children: Elizabeth (Jason) Strigle of Minnesota, Keith Redman (Katie Teague) of Indiana and Ted McMahon of Lincoln, Illinois; one granddaughter Jaiden; two sisters: Michelle (Pete) Profilet of Texas and Delores (Howard, III) Howard of Texas; one brother Tony (Denise) Scholey of Aurora; his mother-in-law Irene (Richard) Banning of Florida; father-in-law Ralph (Daisy) McMahon of Tennessee; two sisters-in-law: Cheryl Newman of Tennessee and Sonya (Brent) Dermody of Utah; one brother-in-law John (Jennifer) Grant of Joliet, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as his lifelong close friend John Kinnett of Wilmington.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents; one brother Jimmy; two sisters: Kathleen and Sandra and his step father-in-law: Ernie Stewart.

A memorial visitation with video tribute will be held on Tuesday October 30, 2012 from 5:00PM until time of memorial service 7:00PM at Freitag-Reeves & Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Ken's memory to his family for their distribution.
