Kellen Gabriel Copes

Infant son of Lance and Kristin (Wills) Copes of Coal City, passed away Monday September 10, 2007 at Advocate Hope Children's Hospital in Oak Lawn, Illinois. He was born August 09, 2007.

Kellen is survived by his parents Lance and Krissy; brother Carter Lane Copes and sister Kerigan Allora Copes, both at home; grandparents: Arden and Carole Wills of Coal City and Larry and Linda Copes of Leroy; great grandmothers: Shirley Copes of Normal and Clara Tebben of Tucson, Arizona; aunts and uncles: Greg and Tiffany Wills and Darin and Nikki Wills, both of Coal City and Troy and Tracy Anderson of Dwight and cousins: Brandon, Alex, Beau, Taylor, Zoe and Erin.

Kellen was preceded in death by his brother Caden Reece Copes on December 29, 2002; great grandparents: Arden, Sr. and Ellen "Snookie" Wills, Frank "Cal" and Marie Vilt, Wilmer "Bill" Tebben and Fred L. Copes and infant cousin Ryan Wills.

Visitation will be held on Friday September 14, 2007 between the hours of 4:00PM and 8:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block North of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City. Private family services will follow and burial will be in Braceville-Gardner Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Greg Wills, Darin Wills, Troy Anderson, Chris Spencer and Laura Knick.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Kellen's memory to the family for distribution to local charities of their choice.

Kellen and his family appreciated the beautiful prayers and acts of kindness sent over the past month. Kellen means "Mighty Warrior" and Gabriel means "Devoted to God". In Kellen Gabriel's short life he courageously lived up to his beautiful name.
