Kathryn "Jean" Ludwig

Age 74 of Wilmington, passed away Tuesday October 07, 2008 at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet.

Born August 04, 1934 in Marseilles, Jean was a daughter of the late Matthew and Maurine Hill-Crawford. She was a graduate of the first class at St. Rose School in Wilmington and attended Wilmington High School. On October 11, 1958, Jean married "Hap" Ludwig in Joliet. She worked for various restaurants in the Joliet area and later opened Cookie Jar Antiques in Wilmington. Most recently Jean was a partner at Courtyard Candles and Flowers in Wilmington. She was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church in Wilmington and in her free time Jean enjoyed shopping, her family, attending her grandkids sporting activities and sharing time with her numerous friends.

Survivors include her loving children: Debbie (Bob) Bolin of Wilmington, Laura (Robert) Viano of Lockport and Andria (Doug) Lord of Manito, Illinois; one sister Joan VanDuyne of Wilmington; one brother James "Dutch" Crawford; grandchildren: Ryan (Nicole), Ross, Sara, Bob Jr. (Eva) and Linda Bolin, Megan Paulsen-Peyton, Kelsey and Jennifer Paulsen, Jimmy Giordano, Matt and Zach Lord and Mikaela Hartsfield; great grandchildren: Robbie and Reegan Bolin and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, as well as her "Special Sister" Kay Sullivan.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, husband "Hap" in 1999 and two brothers: Bob and Jack Crawford.

Visitation will be held on Friday October 10, 2008 between the hours of 3:00PM and 8:00PM and Saturday October 11th from 9:00AM until 9:30AM at Reeves Funeral Home, 219 North Joliet Street (two blocks North of Illinois Route 53 / Baltimore Street) in Wilmington. Funeral services will follow on Saturday at 10:00AM in St. Rose Catholic Church in Wilmington, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Rev. Steve Bondi officiating.

Burial will be in Braceville-Gardner Cemetery and pallbearers will be: Ryan Bolin, Ross Bolin, Zach Lord, Jimmy Giordano, Matt Lord, Ken Hasty, Mike Williams and Mike Johnson.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Jean's memory to Kuzma Care Cottage in Wilmington.
