Age 57 of Morris, passed away unexpectedly Thursday October 27, 2011 at her home.

Born January 8, 1954 in Morris, Kathy is a daughter of Robert T. Stansberry, Sr. of Morris, and the late Mildred I. Myers-Stansberry. She was raised and educated in Morris and was a graduate of Morris Community High School. On January 15, 1972, Kathy married John Kleinfeldt in the First Presbyterian Church in Morris, and together they made Morris their home. Kathy's hobby and classes of stained glass instruction in the 1970's lead to her career as a glass artisan; owning and operating Heritage Studios in Morris from 1999 to the present. She also was the co-owner and operator of Kleinfeldt Paint in Morris from 1985 to 1989. Kathy was a very active member of First Presbyterian Church in Morris, and over the years served as trustee and deacon. She was also involved with the Women's Association, mission trips and served as a Senior High Youth Group Leader. Kathy participated in the Big Brothers Big Sisters Homework Connection, and her professional career promoted her participation in with the Grundy County Chamber of Commerce, where she held a position with the board of directors, the Morris Retail Association, Home For The Holidays and former membership with Illinois Prairie Painters. She loved to sew and was a professional seamstress, working for Sklut's Mens Wear in Morris for several years. Kathy's skill for baking, provided pies for the former Bodean's Restaurant, as well as brought home many blue ribbons from the Grundy County Corn Festival. Both Kathy and her husband John oversaw and judged the Handcraft Show at the Corn Festival for various years and she had a fondness for horses, which she showed and also barrel raced in years past. She truly loved cooking, gardening, music and her dogs, and could often be found walking and reading. Kathy had a great love for family and greatly cherished the times baking with her granddaughter Molly.

Survivors include her husband John; two children: Jonathon (Rebecca Walsh) Kleinfeldt and Sarah (Eric) Fisher; granddaughter Molly Kathryn Fisher and father Robert T. Stansberry, Sr., all of Morris; two sisters: Rose (Mike) Gonnam of Mazon and Nora (Doug Lyons) Stansberry of Morris; mother-in-law: Ethel Kleinfeldt and sister-in-law Ann Stansberry, both of Morris; three brothers-in-law: Tom (Ann) Kleinfeldt of Maryland and Lee (Sue) Kleinfeldt and Art Kleinfeldt, both of Morris, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Kathy was preceded in death by her mother Mildred Stansberry on December 27, 2010, brother Robert T. Stansberry, Jr. on September 11, 2011 and her father-in-law Earl Kleinfeldt.

The family will receive friends on Sunday October 30, 2011 at The First Presbyterian Church, 200 East Jackson Street in Morris from 3:00PM until time of services 6:00PM. Reverend Dr. Roy Backus will officiate.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Kathy's memory to The First Presbyterian Church, 200 East Jackson Street, Morris, Illinois 60450.
