Age 55 of Coal City, passed away Saturday June 20, 2009 at her home.

Born March 19, 1954 in Joliet, Kathy is a daughter of the late Henry and Anna Bouwman-Racinowski. She was a graduate of Coal City High School with the Class of 1972 and has lived in Joliet, Minooka and Mazon, as well as in Florida and Guam during her married years. Kathy was a waitress for 27 years at the River Restaurant and was a member of Assumption Catholic Church in Coal City. In her free time Kathy enjoyed reading and baking.

Survivors include her husband Vernon, whom she married on May 23, 1987 in Joliet; children: Paul Allen (Hanna) Conant of Virginia, Selby V. (Kristy) Proud of Bloomington, Justin V. (Melissa) Proud of Streator and Sara (Lee) Crisman of Norway, IL; five grandchildren; two brothers and two sisters: Carol Racinowski, Cynthia Brown and Ronald Racinowski, all of Coal City and Robert (Jan) Racinowski of Wisconsin; one brother-in-law Selby J. Proud of Florida and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation and Video Tribute will be held on Friday June 26, 2009 between the hours of 4:00pm and 8:00pm at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block North of Illinois Route 113) in Coal City. Funeral services will follow on Saturday at 10:00am in Assumption Catholic Church in Coal City, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Rev. Robert Noesen officiating.

Burial will be in Braceville-Gardner Cemetery and pallbearers will be: Allen Brown, Christopher Day, Wayne Pierard, Ray Baskerville, Harry Nelson and Lou Bender.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Kathy's memory to her family for distribution to local charities of their choosing.
