Katherine M. Ryder

Age 90 of Morris and formerly Joliet, passed away Friday March 28, 2008 at Walnut Grove Village in Morris.

Born November 28, 1917 in Joliet, Katherine was a daughter of the late John and Nell Brennan-Glynn. She was raised and educated in Joliet and was a graduate of Joliet Township High School. Katherine was a former member of St. Raymond Nonnatus Parish in Joliet and in her free time she enjoyed playing cards with her friends. Katherine was a dedicated mother and wife, and though her family moved frequently due to her husband traveling with the Military, she was always an understanding and faithful wife and mother.

Survivors include her son Stephen (Maryanne) Ryder of Morris; five grandchildren: Katie (Bud) Sheedy of Verona, Paula (Derrick) Pfeifer of Mazon, Monica Ryder of Morris and Edward (fiancAC. a�" Amanda Red) Squellati and Stephen Squellati, both of Coal City and four great grandchildren: Zachary Pfeifer, Gwyneth Pfeifer, Madison Squellati and Trever Squelatti, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Katherine was preceded in death by her parents, husband Darwin E. Ryder (2000), daughter Therese Ryder (2007), one brother Jack Glynn and one sister Dorothy Specht.

Visitation and Video Tribute will be held on Sunday March 30, 2008 between the hours of 4:00PM and 6:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 408 East Washington Street (one block East of Illinois Route 47) in Morris. Funeral services will follow on Monday March 31st at 10:00AM in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Morris, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Rev. Richard Smith officiating.

Burial will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Katherine's memory to the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Building Fund.
