"Bessie"

Age 92, of Wilmington and formerly Braidwood, passed away Thursday April 3, 2008 at Silver Cross Medical Center in Joliet.

Born March 26, 1916 in Florence Township to the late James and Ella McGovern-Kennedy. Bessie was employed by the Department of Defense for numerous years in the United States, Okinawa and Germany. In her free time she loved to travel and garden.

Survivors include one sister, Nora McGrath of Wilmington; (18) loving nieces and nephews and (27) great nieces and nephews.

Bessie was preceded by her parents; five brothers: James Leo, John Martin, Thomas Lawrence, William Chester and Francis Xavier and one sister Mary Loretta Tulley.

Visitation will be held Friday April 4, 2008 between the hours of 3:00PM and 7:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 219 North Joliet Street (two blocks North of Illinois Route 53 / Baltimore Street) in Wilmington. Funeral services will follow Saturday April 5th at 12:30PM in St. Rose Catholic Church in Wilmington, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Rev. Steve Bondi and Deacon Don Dyer officiating.

Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Wilmington.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Bessie's memory to Kuzma Care Cottage.
